Chapter 50

Chapter50 Jealousy

Rosie vented her frustration to her boyfriend."Darling, those two went too far. They.."

In her story, Marc became the sleazy man who couldn't control himself around her, while Marissa was the accomplice helping him.

Rosie tearfully insisted that if her friend hadn't walked into the restroom when she did, she might have been sexually assaulted by that monster.

Her boyfriend Bernie Alvarez, dressed neatly in a fitted suit, looked refined. After hearing Rosie's story, he was furious. He smashed several cups and said sharply, "Don't worry, sweetheart. I'll find them and make sure they're kicked out. They'll never set foot here again!"

"Thank you!" Rosie said, quickly leaning forward to kiss him. The two shared a long, public kiss and even had sex right there.

Rosie's friend continued eating, unaffected.

After a few minutes, the sex was over. Rosie exhaled and leaned back in her chair, looking tired.Bernie straightened his suit and left, appearing satisfied. Once outside, he questioned the waiters, his tone harsh. "Were you even doing your jobs? A customer was almost assaulted in the restroom, and none of you saw a thing? Showv me the surveillance footage!"

The waiters, busy serving other customers, looked at him blankly.

"Customers go to the restroom all the time after eating," one said. "How are we supposed to find them now? They've probably left."

"Exactly," another added. "We can't access the footage without the boss's permission."

Their tone made it clear that Bernie didn't have the authority to demand anything.

Frowning, he said, "You all know Rosie is my girlfriend. How could you let her be bullied?"

So it was his girlfriend who had almost been assaulted.

A young waitress rolled her eyes.

Before she could respond, the head waiter pulled her aside and said, "Mr. Alvarez, with all respect, you change girlfriends too often. Even if we want to help, we need to know who it is this time."

"You-!" Bernie slammed the counter. "Haven't you all met Rosie?"

The head waiter feigned a confused expression."Didn't you say last time that Rosie was just your friend?"

"I'm done talking with you," Bernie snapped."Just remember this: today's accident is a direct result of your neglect. Therefore, you'll pay Rosie's bill to make it upo to her."

He then turned and walked off.

After he left, a waiter muttered under his breath."He's really a bastard, acting all high and mighty."

"Don't take what he said to heart. Let's just get back to work," the head waiter said, noting the incident down for his end-of-month report.

Marissa didn't care about Rosie's earlier threats. After eating, she and Marc went downstairs, only to see Rosie in the lobby.

Rosie was clinging to a man in a suit, smiling and flirting. The man occasionally kissed her as if no one was watching.

Spotting Marissa, Rosie paused for a moment. Her expression darkened, and she immediately stepped away from Bernie. Confused by her sudden change in attitude, he tried to pull her back by the waist, but she pushed him off.

Bernie was irritated at being rejected in front of others. His face hardened as he asked, "What's wrong with you now,Rosie?"

Paying no mind to his words, Rosie remained completely captivated by Marc. Whenever he was around,Bernie meant nothing to her.

"Are you yelling at me?" Rosie demanded, planting her hands on her hips as she glared at Bernie."First you lie to me, and now you yell at me? We're done!"

She had thought Bernie had actually forced Marc and Marissa to leave. Realizing he had lied and was now scolding her in public made her furious.

Why did she need him at all?

He didn't even satisfy her.

Bernie, stunned by the sudden breakup, followed her gaze and saw Marc and Marissa nearby.

He didn't pay much attention to Marc-many men there dressed in designer clothes, and appearances meant little.

But his eyes lingered on Marissa for a few seconds.Rosie noticed immediately, and her expression turned cold.

She quickly softened her tone and said, "Honey..."

Bernie's attention returned to her at once. He put his arm around her waist again and asked, "You're jealous just because I looked at someone else?"

Rosie gave a faint, embarrassed smile.

Marissa ignored both of them completely and walked out without looking back.

Rosie's face darkened. She leaned toward Bernie and whispered something in his ear, then followed Marissa outside.

As she walked through the corridor lined with glass cabinets displaying fine porcelain, she suddenly lunged forward toward a waitress.

The waitress lost balance and bumped into Marissa.

With a sharp crash, one of the glass cabinets toppled over.
