Chapter 49

Chapter49 Use Your Charm To Steal My Boyfriend

Marissa shot a glance at Rosie and said, "Well, keep stewing in your jealousy then."

Rosie's face clouded over instantly.

Nearby, Marc gazed at Marissa with affectionate eyes, playing along with her story.

Rosie, feigning innocence, blinked and said, "Miss, what is that supposed to mean? I'm confused. Sir,is your girlfriend throwing shade at me?"

Marc hesitated before responding, "She didn't mean it like that. You're reading too much into it."

Rosie batted her lashes and cooed, "Miss, I'm honestly jealous of you two. I've always been under my family's thumb. I've never even had a boyfriend."

A sharp giggle erupted nearby.

Rosie knew exactly who it was and fired a fierce glare at her friend, silently demanding silence.

Thefriend stifled her laughter, stepping back a few paces. "I see..." Marissa nodded as if absorbing Rosie's words, a sly smirk tugging at her lips. Nonchalantly, she added, "Then step up your game. Use your charm to steal my boyfriend."

Her casual tone left Rosie speechless, her eyes darting to her friend in shared confusion.

What did this woman mean by that?

"Doesn't that bother you?" Rosie pressed, lips tight, feeling off-balance. She thrived on the thrill of taking other people's boyfriends, but...

Her skeptical gaze lingered on Marissa's face. This woman seemed too straight-laced for love games-had she misjudged her?

Marissa even looked oddly familiar, though Rosie couldn't place her.

"Why would it bother me?" Marissa countered, arching an eyebrow.

Rosie faltered, at a loss for words.

Her friend jumped in, "Come on, Rosie, let's drop the joking. Your ankle's looking swollen!" Then she turned to Marc and approached him, putting on a coquettish smile. "Sir, could you help get Rosie to a hospital?"

Rosie scoffed, annoyed. "What are you doing?" Was her friend trying to compete with her for this handsome man's attention?

Her friend wore a sly expression as she brushed off Rosie's irritation and whispered, "You don't think you've already claimed him, do you? What's wrong with me trying to?"

Each word deepened Rosie's scowl, leaving her speechless.

"The food is all set. Do you want to keep up the act?" Marc asked Marissa, who seemed tired.

Marissa shook her head, stifling a yawn. "No more games. I'm starving-let's eat."

The siblings turned to walk away, leaving Rosie and her friend behind.

Rosie let out a scornful huff, her eyes stabbing into Marissa's back, her voice sharp. "So you're just going to leave like that?"

Marissa stopped, turning with a sly half-smile."Anything else?" she asked.

Rosie shed her facade, rising from the floor. "You think you can just shove me and walk off? I could have you both kicked out of here!"

It sounded like she owned this place. Marissa hadn't heard of any new management.

"Go ahead," Marissa said, narrowing her eyes as she sized Rosie up, her long false lashes hiding the glint in her gaze.

"You!" Rosie fumed, despising Marissa's dismissive stare, her teeth clenched. "I will teach you a hard lesson!"

"I doubt it," Marissa replied coolly.

Rosie's face burned with rage.

Was this woman mocking her?

"Sir, need a new girlfriend? You should consider me." Rosie's friend flipped her hair, her calculated gestures drawing attention to her chest.

Marc shot a frosty glance at Rosie and her friend and didn't bother saying another word to tem.

"Let's go," he said, slipping an arm around Marissa as they walked off. "Rissa, there's no point wasting time on people like these."

"Marc, you don't like them?" Marissa teased.

She thought some sharp guys went for shallow women.

Rosie, watching them leave, yanked out her phone in a fury and called her boyfriend. "You at work?" Her friend leaned against the wall, her mood just as sour.

Marissa and Marc returned to their private dining room, where their ordered dishes awaited. The waiter greeted them warmly. "Ring the bell if you need anything."

Then he stepped out to stand by.

The siblings settled into their seats, and quietly dug into their meal.

Meanwhile, Rosie finished ranting over the phone, eating with her friend while waiting for her boyfriend.

He was the restaurant manager and arrived promptly after the call. Rosie spun an exaggerated version of what had just happened.
