Chapter 33
Chapter33 How Could Marissa Execute Such An Impressive Move
"No need!" Holley snapped, her face hardening with defiance as she gestured sharply, barring Greta from coming closer.
Raised in a world where everyone catered to her whims, she had never been snubbed before.
Greta's decision to prioritize Marissa over her was utterly intolerable to Holley.
She shot Greta a venomous look and hissed, "Go grovel to Marissa! I don't need you!"
A more diplomatic Greta might have placated Holley, but her blunt nature led her to ignore the outburst. When Holley ordered her to tend to Marissa, she complied with a courteous smile and a warm,"As you wish."
Witnessing Greta choose Marissa yet again, Holley, consumed by fury, seized a vase from the nearby table and flung it at Greta's back, shouting, "You wretch!"
"Holley!" Barry roared, his voice thick with anger.
"Look out!" Marissa's gaze sharpened as she leapt
to her feet, swiftly pulling Greta to safety and shattering the vase with a precise kick mid-air.
The vase broke apart, shards scattering across the floor.
Marissa's movements were fluid and expertly controlled, hinting at professional training.Theodore's brow arched with curiosity, intrigued by what else Marissa might be capable óf.
Holley stood frozen, her hand still raised, stunned by Marissa's swift reaction.
How could Marissa execute such an impressive move?
How could she be so formidable?
Holley's breath caught, her chest tight with a mix of fear and jealousy. Something unreadable sparked in her eyes.
The sound of porcelain fragments hitting the floor reverberated through the room.
Greta, still reeling from the incident, stared at the broken pieces beneath her feet. She quickly guided Marissa to a safer spot, urging, "Watch your step.Don't get hurt."
Realizing what had happened, Greta didn't glance at Holley but instead thanked Marissa sincerely"Thank you for saving me!"
To Greta, Marissa's cool exterior masked a compassionate heart, making her seem almost angelic.
"Everyone, clean this up. I'll fetch some water,"Greta directed other maids.
She stayed near Marissa, her actions signaling her allegiance.
Just ten minutes earlier, the domestic staff had all received a message from their employer instructing them to show Marissa respect.
Holley spun around, noticing no one stood by her side-everyone clustered around Marissa. She pouted, muttering,"Damn it!"
Barry, preoccupied with other responsibilities, couldn't constantly monitor Holley. In front of Theodore and Marissa, he tugged his sister out, saying, "Go wait in Rita's room! Don't cause any more trouble!"
Holley scowled, hating being hauled around.
"What are you doing? Let me go. I'm staying!" she protested, shoving Barry. Then she called out,"Theodore! Theodore!"
She rarely saw Theodore, a work-obsessed man whose company was off-limits to her, and whose private homes she couldn't track down, even with a detective.
With Theodore present, Holley refused to leave.
Her strength and resistance left Barry sweating, forcing him to let her go for the time being.
"Can't you act sensibly?" Barry hissed through clenched teeth, warning her quietly.
Holley snorted, smoothing her rumpled hair and dress, lowering her voice. "You have your plans, and I have mine! Stay out of my way! And stop treating me like a child!"
"I have pressing matters to deal with. If you keep making a scene, I will freeze your credit cards! I'm serious!" Barry was fed up with Holley's obstinacy.
"Barry!" Holley gasped, shocked by her brother's threat. Her eyes widened. "How could you threaten to freeze my cards? I'm going to tell Mom and Dad you're dating that model!"
Knowing Holley for years, Barry had his methods to make her surrender. He leaned in, whispering, "Go tell Mom and Dad, and I'll tell Theodore about that college guy you're bankrolling."
"You!" Holley's pointing finger shook with rage. To stay near Theodore, she grudgingly accepted Barry's terms. "Fine, I'll behave!"
"You want to stay here?"
"Yes!" Holley nodded firmly, determined to remain close to Theodore and prevent Marissa from getting near him.
"Alright," Barry sighed. "First, apologize to Greta."
Holley asked incredulously. "You want me to apologize to a maid?"
In her eyes, her brother's request was utterly ridiculous!
